About Link Crypt
The URL layer for Obsidian + AI — a private link library with a full REST API so you, your extension, and your agents save, tag, and search the same URLs.
Why we built it
Bookmarks scattered across browsers and read-later apps are hard to reason about — especially when you also use Obsidian for notes and AI assistants for research. We wanted one place for URLs: saved with tags, searchable in the app, and addressable over HTTP so an agent can pull context or drop in a new link without a separate workflow.
What makes it different
Beyond advanced search (tag:, domain:, and more), Link Crypt ships a first-class REST API and per-user API keys. No ads, no social feed, unlimited tags, full export — and we still make it easy to import from Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, Pocket, Instapaper, and many other services if you are consolidating.
For developers & AI workflows
Browse the public API reference, create keys in Preferences after you sign in, or follow a step-by-step guide for your stack.
Who it’s for
Anyone who accumulates lots of links and needs reliable retrieval — the same advanced search and API that power Obsidian and AI workflows also suit high-volume professional use.
- Journalists & writers — sources and background reading, tagged by story or beat;
domain:andtag:when deadlines hit. - Product & UX — competitors, specs, research sessions; filters stay accurate as the library grows.
- Analysts & researchers — papers, data, tools; combined queries (e.g.
tag:ai domain:arxiv.org) stay fast. - PKM + AI stacks — Obsidian for notes, your agent for reasoning, LinkCrypt for URLs over HTTP.
Simple, powerful interface
The same library you see in the app is what your API clients query — tags, search, and privacy in one place.
