How do I import my links from Pocket?

Step 1: Export from Pocket

  1. Note: Pocket shut down October 8, 2025. If you have your export file, skip to Step 2.
  2. If you exported before shutdown, locate your Pocket CSV file in your Downloads folder or email

Step 2: Import to Link Crypt

  1. Sign in to Link Crypt at getlinkcrypt.com
  2. Click the menu (☰) and select "Import Links"
  3. Choose "Pocket CSV Export" format
  4. Upload your CSV file
  5. Click "Import" and wait for completion

What gets imported: All links, titles, descriptions, tags, favorites, save dates, and read/unread status.

How do I import my bookmarks from Instapaper?

Step 1: Export from Instapaper

  1. Go to instapaper.com/user settings
  2. Scroll to the "Export" section
  3. Click "Download .CSV file"
  4. Save the file to your computer

Step 2: Import to Link Crypt

  1. Sign in to Link Crypt
  2. Go to Import Links
  3. Select "Instapaper CSV Export"
  4. Upload your CSV file
  5. Import completes in seconds

Note: Instapaper folders (Unread, Archive) become tags in Link Crypt. Private email content (instapaper-private:// URLs) is automatically skipped.

How do I migrate from Raindrop.io?

Export from Raindrop.io

  1. Visit raindrop.io and sign in
  2. Select the collection you want to export
  3. Click the "⋮" menu and select "Export"
  4. Choose CSV format
  5. Download the file

Import to Link Crypt

  1. Open Link Crypt and go to Import Links
  2. Select "Raindrop.io CSV Export"
  3. Upload your CSV file
  4. All links import with tags preserved

Folders preserved: Raindrop's nested folders (e.g., "Work/Projects") become multiple tags in Link Crypt, preserving your organization.

How do I export bookmarks from Pinboard?

Export from Pinboard

  1. Go to pinboard.in/export
  2. Sign in to your account
  3. Select "JSON" format
  4. Click "Download"

Import to Link Crypt

  1. Sign in to Link Crypt
  2. Navigate to Import Links
  3. Choose "Pinboard JSON Export"
  4. Upload your JSON file
  5. Tags and read-later status preserved

Tags format: Pinboard uses space-separated tags which are automatically converted to Link Crypt's tag system.

How do I export my Readwise Reader library?

Export from Readwise Reader

  1. Open Readwise Reader
  2. Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to open Command Palette
  3. Type "Generate CSV export"
  4. Or go to Account → Export Library as CSV
  5. You'll receive an email with the download link

Import to Link Crypt

  1. Sign in to Link Crypt
  2. Go to Import Links
  3. Select "Readwise Reader CSV Export"
  4. Upload your CSV file

How do I import browser bookmarks?

Link Crypt supports bookmark imports from Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Export Browser Bookmarks

Chrome:

Menu → Bookmarks → Bookmark manager → ⋮ → Export bookmarks

Safari:

File → Export Bookmarks (macOS 15.2+)

Firefox:

Library → Bookmarks → Show All Bookmarks → Import and Backup → Export Bookmarks to HTML

Edge:

Settings → Favorites → ⋯ → Export favorites

  1. Go to Link Crypt Import page
